What sanctuary did
you bring before me?
What laws made you
pour salt upon my wounds?
Dying never ceased
the aching heart, never
did love pause to rest,
never did it bleed.
Who do you turn to,
what law do you provide?
What equity of man or
Satan is it that you read?
I ask these questions,
and thus, pittance in lies.
Easing the beautiful soul
you tarnished upon the bronze.
Why
are
you
t o r n ?
The tearing was naught
but the shredding of last
vestiges of your morals,
humanity diluted, distilled.
Why do you suffocate
on your sorrows, deceit?
Why do you sigh when
you fall down beside me?
Only two graves befit
the wielder of the subtle
knife, the only ill-gotten
gain is ill-gotten sanctuary.
Have you eyes, but no sight?
Did your hallowed judge,
the one who smites the hammer,
take them as dowry?
Hand in hand with a new
order; you forsook me this.
Lay me down. You have
only yourself to repent.
Why
are
you
t o r n ?
And now I have to move on,
not knowing if it will be better.
I doubt I will forget you though.
After all, Iloved you.

It's hard to believe that I was the one that inspired such a piece.
Reading through it made me smile because, as you know, I've been aiming for a while now to work with a visual aspect. I suppose that you, using constant formatting would understand it better than mself, so knowing that my own "Torn" gave birth to this makes me believe I have reached an acceptable level.
Thank you very much for this piece. It means a lot.
